Who We Are
The Family & Children’s Law Center provides high-quality, low-cost legal services to families and children on matters ranging from domestic violence to child custody and support.
FACLC services are for cases in the Marin County Courts only.
New Clients need to attend a Weekly Intake Clinic on Wednesdays, 9:00am – 11:30am and 1:00pm – 3:30pm.
A family of 4 can earn approximately $120,000 and still qualify for FACLC’s services. Approximately 200% HUD’s San Francisco Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area Chart of Upper Income Limits for Marin County.
Sliding scale ranges from $0 to $225/hour. Clients receiving CalWorks or Supplemental Social Security income pay $40.hour with verification. FACLC has estimated the length of appointment for each task, and the client pays for the appointments. The Client is present for each appointment. No charge for time spent outside of the appointment. Client must provide proof of income (including two months of paystubs and two years of tax returns).
No domestic violence victim is turned away for an inability to pay, and for preparing restraining orders, FACLC waives income guidelines I.e., no matter your income, FACLC can assist you).
